Tertiary Education

Children by Choice’s community education team deliver a variety of presentations exploring sexual health and unplanned pregnancy decision-making pathways to tertiary institutions including universities and TAFE. We have a broad range of experience in offering these presentations/lectures to social work, nursing, medical, psychology, teaching and human service faculties. These presentations seek to further equip students with a greater understanding of:

• The variety of factors impacting on people's access to contraception and contraceptive use
• Women’s experience of unplanned pregnancy
• The personal and structural reasons for unplanned pregnancy
• The decision-making pathways available to women facing an unplanned pregnancy (including parenting, adoption and abortion)
• Women-centered counselling around unplanned pregnancy
• Abortion and the law

Whilst we have pre-design presentations on offer, we are also able to tailor our presentations to suit your learning needs.
