Volunteer

Children by Choice has had many wonderful volunteers over the past thirty plus years, and we appreciate all of their support.  We are a member of Volunteering Queensland and retain volunteer's insurance.  We prefer all volunteers to become members of the Association and confirm their commitment to a woman's right to choose before they volunteer with us.

As a small organisation, there are limited opportunities available for volunteer placements.  We always need volunteers to staff community stall events, but most critically we seek pro-choice activists to join our association as members and/or campaign for abortion law reform and reproductive rights issues such as paid maternity leave.  To support our work, the best action you can take is to write or email your local parliamentarian now!

If you are a social work or psychology student, we do undertake supervised student placements for students in their third or fourth year, interested in a feminist framework of practice.  Please email us for further information. 

We also can accept degree qualified graduates who seek more professional experience as counselling volunteers.  The availability of placements is very limited as we have a small Counselling Team.  However, please contact us if you have particular interest in and focus towards working within a feminist framework of practice.
