Our services
Education and training
Our education and training team delivers workshops, webinars, and resources for health care workers, community workers, and community members.
These sessions build understanding around reproductive rights, reproductive justice, reproductive coercion and abuse, abortion care, and best-practice pregnancy decision-making support. We aim to strengthen sector confidence and ensure clients across the state receive informed, compassionate, and equitable abortion and reproductive care. Children by Choice also facilitates reflective rounds for Queensland Health staff working in abortion care.
Reflective Rounds are structured, facilitated group sessions that provide health professionals with a safe space to reflect on the challenging aspects of their work, particularly in abortion and pregnancy-related care. Reflective Rounds are designed to help staff pause, process, and connect.
We also run a Consumer Advisory Group which brings together individuals with lived experience of accessing abortion care in Queensland, to help identify barriers, highlight gaps in service delivery, and co-design solutions that improve access for all.
Our mission is to be leaders in advancing reproductive autonomy and access to compassionate abortion.
Advocacy and reform
Children by Choice advocates for systems that respect and protect reproductive rights. We work in partnership with government, health services, and community organisations to improve laws, policies, and pathways that affect access to abortion, contraception, and pregnancy care.
Over five decades, our work has evolved but our purpose has remained constant: to advance reproductive autonomy and ensure all Queenslanders can access the care and information they need to make the choice that’s right for them.
