Our Supporting Reproductive Choice training has been developed with healthcare practitioners in mind. This full day, in person training is available free for all Queensland Health employees, and is particularly valuable to anyone working with pregnant people.
This training includes evidence-based guidance and practical skills on discussing all pregnancy options with your clients, as well as how to identify and support someone experiencing reproductive coercion and abuse. We will deep dive into the causes, implications, and impacts of abortion stigma, as well as review the legalities of conscientious objection. You will leave the day feeling informed and prepared to support the pregnant people of Queensland using a trauma-informed, patient centred approach.
Reflective Rounds are structured, facilitated group sessions that provide health professionals with a safe and structured space to reflect on the challenging aspects of their work, particularly in abortion and pregnancy-related care. As a form of reflective practice, participants are assisted to name, identify, and work through emotional reactions to complex, stigmatising work.
Reflective practice has been shown to reduce moral distress and burnout, and increase job satisfaction in healthcare providers. Other benefits include reduced staff sickness and absence, improved clinical practice and patient outcomes, and improved conflict resolution.
If you or your staff work in the termination of pregnancy space and are looking for accessible and supportive, reflective supervision, this program is for you.
